$$–$$$$
Depends how big of a mess you made. We’ll be able to give you a proper quote once we’ve talked.
We get it. You got caught up in the hype. But now everything’s broken and some key people are gone.
Technology is just another word for tool. It’s easy to lose sight of this when the hype cycles heat up. Using the wrong tool, or adding an experimental technology to a critical process, tends to make a mess of things. And yet this happens again and again, because people.
So many things have changed so fast in the last couple of decades, it is legitimately difficult to tell when you have a technology problem (a problem a particular technology would help solve) and when you don’t. And technology problems attract more attention because they sound more solvable with less messy human interaction.
Attempts to radically change processes and products to incorporate new technology often go sideways because the rush towards new tools blows past understanding the true problem and the actual capabilities. Then you end up with a bigger problem.
We’ve seen our share of hype cycles. We’ve seen what happens when everyone puts all their eggs into one basket, and the bottom falls out of the basket. Hey, new stuff is exciting. Sometimes it even works! We like it when stuff works.
If you’ve experienced organizational upheaval, and need to take a step back before you take a more considered step forward, we want to help.
With our crack team of workers, we’ll assess the damage, figure out how to get you back on track, and maybe even toss in some tips and tricks to help you avoid the next hype cycle.
What it is
Depending on the complexity of your company, we’ll be around anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. We’ll talk to the people doing the work. We’ll talk to your customers. We might even talk to the people who used to work there. (Yeah, you might be writing some apology emails.) (Without ChatGPT.)
Who it’s for
Any non-profit, or for-profit business who fell for the hype. Anyone who remembers that it was actually better when humans built things for humans.
How it works
We’ll have a planning call to understand your goals and your roadblocks.
We’ll have a conversation with (what’s left of) your team to make sure the slop mind virus has fled their body.
We’ll assemble a team to look under the hood and see how much damage you did.
We’ll put together an assessment of our recommendations.
Outcomes
You get your organization back on track
You might even get some old faces back
You’ll once again become an organization that thrives on delivering value to your users
Is this a joke?
Look in your heart. You know it’s not. You know this is what you want.
What’s your issue?
You fell for the hype
Things that used to work don’t work anymore
Everyone who knew how things worked is gone
You’re thinking if you give it another couple of weeks things will sort themselves out
A couple of weeks have passed and things only got worse
Your VC is calling you in the middle of the night to demand more slop
You know that’s just gonna make it worst
You miss having people around who knew what they were doing
We spent so much time thinking about whether we could, and no time thinking about whether we should.
