Work With Us

We’re small enough that everyone does a little bit of everything, but smart enough to know some people are better at some things than others. We’re always looking for people who work smart, work hard, and are passionate about design.

Send us an e-mail telling us why you want to work here. The resume is secondary. Everyone cleans their own dishes.

Information Designer

Mule Design Studio is looking for an information designer to join our team.

We specialize in interactive design projects that have the potential to make a positive difference in the lives of real people.

Our clients include non-profit organizations and businesses doing interesting things for money. We tend to prefer working for small and mid-sized organizations. We are highly skeptical of this whole "Web 2.0" thing and take the long view of design.

We also make funny t-shirts about squid.

Our ideal new Mule would have the following qualities:

  • Experience with all stages and deliverables of the information architecture and interaction design process, from initial audience research to concept development, persona creation, site maps, flows, and page-level schematics. Comfort with information-driven websites and dynamic web-based applications.
  • The ability to develop design solutions collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team and articulate them to clients
  • Excellent writing abilities and a palpable desire to write creative briefs, research findings & recommendations, interface nomenclature, and diplomatic e-mail to clients. Actual site copy a plus!
  • Powerful intellectual curiosity and a strong sense of craftsmanship.

This is a contract-to-permanent position beginning as soon as we find the right person.
